'Black British Utopia' marks the beginning of PhD research and works exploring exclusionary tactics within public space and ways of reappropriating to claim space with a direct focus on the Black British experience
The film explores the black body as a territory viewed firstly through the lens of British colonial filmmakers using propagandistic films a tool to 'civilise' groups of people deemed barbaric or protohuman and secondly through post-colonial documentation of the black body on British soil.
